Yes the French look outside of their country and are influence by the globalization. Yes women work and have less time to cook. Yes we sometimes appreciate a nice Belgium beer over a glass of French red, a thai restaurant and a big mac from time to time.

We are humans, we like to explore new things and are not only chauvinist and arrogant, as the world like to see us.

But still, we are the only country in the world where sandwiches are sold more than a burger so 1.8 billion sandwich sold (64% baguette sandwiches) and 280 millions ham and butter. That is 8 sandwiches for one hamburger sold.

I also live in Paris and see a boom in wine bar openings where say serve tons of ham and cheese plate. Small shops and little café are still everywhere and are so not ready to die. We are just part of an evolving world and need to adapt to globalization, but I can certify you that France remains and will remain for many centuries to come.

Daily Horoscope for January 1

Sagittarius

Happy New Year, Saggitarius! Despite the headache, your motivation level is high today, setting a trend for the rest of the year. You'll be surrounded by relatives and friends all year and will work passionately to help them, as you do. Things go smoothly today, and you're absorbed with the duties of new year. Be careful that you don't neglect your own health, though. You can't help others if you're run down.
