Wyndham Hotel Group Signs Deal with Pronobis for Quito Airport Hotel

QUITO, Ecuador - Wyndham Hotel Group, the world's largest hotel company with approximately 7,540 hotels and part of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation , today announced the signing of a franchise agreement for the Wyndham Quito Airport Gran Condor, the first Wyndham Hotels and ResortsA property in Ecuador's capital city. The full-service, 146-room property, which is owned by Pronobis, is the only hotel on the new international airport grounds.

Leaked US diplomatic cables published by WikiLeaks show sought to stop President Rafael Correa from pushing ahead with a constituent assembly to draft a new, more progressive, constitution. In November 2006, leftist candidate Rafael Correa won the second round of the Ecuadorian presidential election with 57% of the vote, compare with his conservative opponent, Alvaro Noboa, who won 43%.

The aerial fumigations that Colombia has carried out recently against coca plantations along its southern border have not affected Ecuador, Quito's top diplomat said Tuesday. Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino sought to reassure Ecuadorians that three operations carried out recently by the Colombian authorities took place at least 15 kilometers away from the border.
