Human Testing Exposing Children to Harmful Chemicals including Fluoride

Dr. William Hirzy, who is vice president of NTEU Chapter 280 (EPA Headquarters) and chemist in residence at American University added, 'One major example of the harm this administration has done to the American people is its failure to respond to the National Research Council Committee on fluoride toxicity report for their 6-year review of the fluoride drinking water standard, which found that EPA's drinking water standard for fluoride does not protect public health. The Committee also found that the evidence for fluoride's carcinogenicity should be taken more seriously by EPA.

Why CDC's Fluoride Information is Wrong

Dr. Scott Tomar worked for the Centers for Disease Control and co-authored articles which underpins two CDC unscientific claims:

1) Fluoridation is "one of the top ten public health achievements of the 20th Century" (ref 1)

2) For every dollar spent on fluoridation $38 is saved on dental health care. (ref 2)

Now working in Florida, Tomar answered five questions submitted by a Gainesville, Florida, water engineer. The Fluoride Action Network responds to Tomar here: http://fluoridealert.org/connett.tomar.oct.2009.pdf

Portland Water District: Race to measure voters' feelings about fluoride

PORTLAND, ME — The race to fill an open seat on the Portland Water District board of trustees has become a referendum on whether the district should continue adding fluoride to water it extracts from Sebago Lake.

"It's all related to agriculture," Prendergast said. "Fluoride can cause damage to vegetation, so it's 40 during the growing season, and it doubles to 80 on Oct. 1," he said.

Bone Fractures: Symptoms or Side Effects?

Fluoride: Fluoride is added to drinking water, toothpaste, and other dental products. At one time it was believed to be helpful in treating osteoporosis because it does increase the density of some bones. However, it decreases the quality of bone material, weakening the bones and leading to bone fractures. Excessive fluoride can also cause dental fluorosis.

Fluoride fails for Humboldt

Fluoride proved too bitter a pill for Humboldt voters to swallow. The mail-ballot vote on whether to fluoridate Humboldt water was resounding in the negative, with 422 people voting against the proposal and 274 for it despite fluoridation opponents being outspent by fluoridationists 7 to 1 ($5,000 vs. $700)

. Local resident Paul Finney lead the campaign to reject water fluoridation, which is the addtion of fluoride chemicals into public water supplies ostensibly to reduce tooth decay in tap water drinkers. However, recent scientific evidence shows that ingesting fluoride is harmful to health.
