Users of Premarin drug stunned by price hike

I have been on HRT now for 2yrs. and I agree that it was quite a shock when I went to refill my medications and found out the price!!! But the interesting thing is that the 0.625mg was over 80.00 to refill (I take the equiv. of 1.25mg/day) but the single pill of 1.25mg was only a little over 40.00/month of medications. Now this is not an oversite on Wyeth Pharm. because, and now here is the interesting part, Wyeth Pharm. sold out to Pfizer Pharm. so Wyeth no longer carries it as it now goes through Pfizer International Company. Now this information was given to me by a market insider so I am seeing if Wyeth Pharm. was actually bought up by Pfizer and so the difference in pricing due to a company takeover going through inventory and they hadn't gotten to the 1.25mg dose yet, so expect that to jump up as well....

Translation: these people really want this prescription, so we'll raid their wallets.

Real translation: the women who take the drug are paying for the many lawsuits involving this drug.

My mother and I need this drug to stay alive. Why should we have to pay this kind of a price for our lives, when we already paid with health issues. Why should we have to pay a high price because Pfizer's lawyers didn't properly handle disclaimers about side effects? Make the CEO pay out of his/her BONUS. I've already had organs removed causing the need for this drug, now I have to give up an arm and a leg...what's next? Go ahead Pfizer, keep increading the price so that I can't afford it. In won't survive; imagine how much that lawsuit will cost you!
