German fibre network operator Big Medienversorgung has been acquired by the country's third largest cable company, Tele Columbus. Currently serving around 12,700 homes in the areas of North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Wurttemberg and Berlin, Monchengladbach-based Big aims to boost its subscriber base to approximately 16,400 by the end of 2014, via its fibre-to-the-building network.
