Michigan does communicate with all other states on drunk driving issues. If you have multiple OWIs you will be...
I got my license suspended at age 18 from 2 DUIs both were under the legal limit but I was under age so I got the DUIs .. Since then I have gotten 3 driving on suspended (in the past 9 years) I moved to california a year and a half ago and cleaned up my life and now need my license to transport my daughter to and from school so I need to start the process. I also have a pending case that I never went to court for (driving on suspended) . I am trying to fill out the packet that the Secretary of State provides to apply to get my license back and it's asking for specific dates of my criminal history (I do not know specific dates) so I may need a criminal docate. Where do I even start?
Step one: order your 7-year driving record from the Michigan Sec of State (costs about $8). Step two: after you get...
I am not asking if I have to go to AA. I am attending AA, I am collecting signatures and turning in the forms. She is telling me I have to get a sponsor and I think she is overstepping her bounds.
I answered this same exact question yesterday. The answer hasn't changed.
I am finishing up 9 months probation. I have weekly etg and drug screens and have been on non reporting for 2 months. My probation is scheduled to end in a couple weeks. I was told I would receive a letter in the mail. Any idea if I will have to go back to court, or get a release or something, or will the letter just tell me I'm done? Is it usually exactly 9 months from the first day of probation, ex Jan 1st to Sept 1, or is it an estimate and can go longer or til the, end,of the month? Just wondering because I may be going or of town for work the next week and will need to change my plans or get exemption for travel if this is the case.
Call your probation officer and seek the answers to your questions. Sometimes courts send you a notice that your...
“I was stopped for "familiar to dim" in Michigan. The police found a half-full bottle of vodka in my backseat. I took a BAC in which I blew .053 because I was drinking earlier that morning but had slept it off. They cited me a ticket for "open intox" and a warning for "famliar to dim", and they allowed me to get back in my car and drive away. My question is: Can the prosecutor add a OWVI charge (.05 to .079) to my case even though the police let me drive away?”
The prosecutor can only add a charge if there is evidence that you committed a crime. Further, the PBT you took on the...
I was in an accident in March of 2012 and it is now Feb 2015. When going into the secretary of state, they said that their is a hold from the city that the accident was in. I was involved in an accident that required medical attention and at the time, I was drinking. Assuming I was over the legal limit, why haven't I been contacted in 3 years? I called the police dept to inquire, and now they have to look into it. Its the only way to get my license.
Testing can often talk a long time if they are backed up. However, that is a really long time. Your question really is:...
I got pulled over last night I passed all the test they have you do when they try to make sure your not drunk but I refused to do the breathalyzer so they took me in. They had me blow in this big machine and got my alcohol level. I did have a few drinks and I let them know that my license are also suspended the only reason I was driving was because my friend whos car it was was drunker then me she hit something and I got scared because I was in a bad car accident so I told her let me drive the rest of the way home. Im in school I work and I was working towards getting my license back I actually only have a couple more tickets in Detroit to pay and ill have my license back. but they wrote me a ticket for DUI and Driving on suspended license I go to court Wednesday.
Anything is possible but a lawyer cannot properly assess your options based upon this limited version of the events....
