Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor announces the arrest of Kevin Heiler, 37, of North Wildwood, and Kim Strawhacker, 59, of North Wildwood, culminating a theft investigation involving the Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit and the Cape May County Board of Social Services. Cape May County Board of Social Services investigators allege that Strawhacker utilized Heiler's Social Services Benefit card for a three-month period while Heiler was incarcerated. Comment?

On October 27, 2015, Brian Ayres, 28, of Villas, allegedly barricaded himself in a residence with minor children and a weapon. Three hours of negotiations led to a peaceful resolution without harm to the minor children. Comment?

North Wildwood Police took a report Dec. 29 of a residence that was burglarized on the 1400 block of New York Avenue. The victim reported that several checks were stolen out of her residence and were cashed at a local bank. Comment?

Wildwood Police Department Uniform Patrol Division initiated a motor vehicle stop in the 4600 block of Burk Avenue, Dec. 31. During contact with the occupants, the rear seat passenger was removed for safety reasons, according to a release. The individual was identified as Malick Philippe, 24, of Jamaica, N.Y. Once outside, Philippe initiated a foot escape, however was apprehended and placed under arrest a short distance from the initial motor vehicle stop. Comment?
