Mental competency was again a point of discussion Friday at a hearing for a man accused of running down three bicyclists with his car. Judge David Rosenberg determined Alamar Houston, 38, should be evaluated again by the same doctor for mental competency to stand trial with new information. Comment?

Michael Reyes Jr., 25, was found guilty in August of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, along with being a felon in possession of a firearm, a felon in possession of ammunition, and multiple gang and gun enhancements. Judge Paul Richardson handed down a determinate sentence Wednesday for 28 years and an indeterminate sentence of in addition to 40 years to life for Reyes. Comment?

A 35-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly threatened sheriff's deputies and was found with the keys to a stolen truck, according to the Solano County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff's dispatchers received a call on Friday from a woman who said her son, later identified as Jacob Harris, 35, was causing a disturbance inside the home, according to Deputy Christine Castillo. A family disturbance led to a rural Vacaville man's arrest and recovery of a stolen vehicle, according to the Solano County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff's deputies responded Friday to a call of a family disturbance at a house on the 7400 block of Locke Road in Vacaville. Comment?

Deputies arrested a 35-year-old man Friday on four offenses after a family disturbance at a home in unincorporated Solano County, sheriff's officials said. The sheriff's office received a call from the man's mother shortly before 8 a.m. from her home in the 7400 block of Locke Road, sheriff's officials said. Comment?

For Woodland native Evan Giebel the moments leading up to his being knocked off his bicycle were very clear, the rest is a cascade of images and emotions that are only days later coming together. Speaking from his hospital room at Kaiser in Sacramento on Sunday, Giebel, 32, was still recovering from a “brain bleed” sustained around 2:14 a.m. last Friday when he was bicycling about six blocks back to his home with a friend after having a few beers at another friend's home. According to police, the incident started around 10:14 p.m., Thursday, when West Sacramento resident Rene Muinos called the West Sacramento Police Department to report his gold 1999 Mazda 626 as stolen. According to the dispatchers, Muinos' 15-year-old son stole the car about an hour prior to Muinos calling. Comment?

A Yolo County jury has convicted three people of criminal charges related to the near-fatal shooting of a man in West Sacramento last November - an incident that authorities say was gang-related. Michael Anthony Reyes Jr., 25, faces 68 years to life in state prison after being found guilty Monday of attempted murder, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and multiple gang- and weapon-related enhancements, according to Yolo County District Attorney Jeff Reisig. Michael Anthony Reyes Jr., 25, was found guilty of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, along with being a felon in possession of a firearm, a felon in possession of ammunition, and multiple gang and gun enhancements. The jury also convicted co-defendants 22-year-old Lisa Humble and 21-year-old Liberty Landowski of being accessory's after the fact with a gang enhancement. Comment?
