Wauwatosa Law

Had 2 glasses of wine then switched to water/soda about 1–1.5 hrs before driving, no drugs whatsoever. At intersection, light turned green, I made a left turn onto a 2-way street, a legal turn almost anywhere else, but evidently not from that street in downtown Milw. Was stopped, told of illegal turn, asked if I'd been drinking, said not recently, then told to step out. Walked straight out/back, no wobble, stood on 1 foot for over 25 sec. easily. Blew into small breathalyzer, officer said I tested close to .08 . Was handcuffed, taken to station, tested 3 times with more sophisticated machine. Outcome was .05, was told DWI charge would be dropped but OUI would stay. Was held for book & release, computers went down. Sat 20 hrs in booking area, 2 sandwiches no sleep, released after 25 hrs.
If your question is "Can I be convicted," the answer is "yes." The State's case is obviously much more difficult when...
Involved in accident. BAC test (breath) administered at station. Air bag deployed, cuts to the entire right side my face, believed to have been knocked out. Breath test at **:** pm, wasn’t taken to a hospital until **:** or later. Left in a confined cell alone, for four to six hours with head injuries, at district *. Once taken downtown booking officers were dumbfounded that I had not yet received medical attention, immediately took me to the hospital. Overheard booking officers discussing how district * day shift officers really screwed up and failed to protect them self’s.
Yes, they are responsible, but I don't see where that gets you. It certainly does not provide a defense to the drunk...
Since WI is non compact, how does that affect my Texas DWI? Will my license be affected in WI, also will my car insurance find out?
Depending on the circumstances of your arrest, you will be charged with a DWI in Texas. The last time I checked Texas...
Is it possible to practice law in the State of Wisconsin if you have a felony OWI on your record? I am strongly considering trying to get accepted to law school-- but since this 'black mark' on my record is not the greatest thing in the world to have to explain-- is it still possible?
That is up to the Board of Bar Examiners. I would assume, though, that if you were accepted by a Wisconsin law school...
I am Wisconsin Resident with an out of state valid license that I had not transferred. Charged with DUI in Monroe County, BAC .11. I was pulled over on the side of the road after a tractor trailer cut me off and tire blew. While waiting for tow, cop pulled up to check things out. I was 100% cooperative, clean record. I really didn't think I had too much to drink, but I am not a large person.
Wisconsin law prohibits amendment of these charges unless a record is made as to how it is in the public interest to do...
The arresting officer (for DUI) was ordered a subpoena for the administrative hearing, he did not show and the suspension was vacated. Will my operating privileges remain exactly the same as they were prior to the arrest? Could my license still be suspended from court, or is this a final outcome?
If you are found guilty of the OWI offense, your license would be revoked by the court as a mandatory result of that....
This is my first offense ever, first run in with police ever, and I am just wondering with this being my first offense if there is anyway to lessen the punishment/chance of going to jail. Can i opt for house arrest so I can continue to work/go to school?
I'm not licensed in Wisconsin, but most states have mandatory jail time and / or fines for anyone convicted of driving...
