I am being transferred to Colorado by the company I work for on Dec 1. It was suggested by the law office I am working for that I wait at least 6months before I try to get a Colorado license to avoid having a suspension in Colorado. My license is currently restricted in arkansas. I will be done with my alchohol classes and be able to get the interlock system off of my vehicle on Nov. 26th here in arkansas before I leave. Colorado told me that I have to get a Colorado drivers license within 30 days of working in Colorado. Law office said that if I am convicted in arkansas that the state will report the DUI to whatever state I am currently holding a drivers license in. I will need to get new car insurance in Colorado too. Trying to avoid Colorado suspension and 9 m. More of interlock. HELP
Attorney is correct -- your DUI problems in AR will be known to CO if you are convicted. Hope you have a GOOD lawyer...
My daughter hit another auto , they left so she continued down the hwy with damaged car mainly to front passenger side . So they gave breath .15 plus not sure . They arrested her , after about 5 hrs let her call someone to come pick her up . She got DWI & driving reckless ticket , 1st time for either . Last ticket she got was speeding ticket back in 2011 . She works full time , has never been in trouble and pays all of her bills on her own . She was suspended today from her job , that she has been at for 3 years . They told her if she didn't have the charges dropped she would be fired . Her court isn't until Nov 25th , I just don't know what she should do .
The most important thing you can do for her is hire an attorney. Her DUI is not a "simple" one and even for those, you...
I have a valid out-of-state license which was suspended for not submitting to the field sobriety tests. I requested a blood test be administered, but the officer charged me with refusing the BAC tests entirely. I am curious this will be treated as a first offense DUI in Arkansas. The Georgia offense occurred 4-5 years ago.
You are giving some mixed information here. Are you asking specifically about a prior DWI conviction or a prior refusal...
This is for DWI & wreck less driving , both are a 1st for her
You should speak to a local attorney about the possibility of that, however, I believe that she will have to appear...
Husband had shoulder surgery 5 weeks ago and was told to be off work for 12 weeks. I am the only source of income until he can go back to work and I am afraid I may lose my job as I am a seasonal worker and employment is just picking back up. Would a judge continue this matter until my husband can return to work? I'm not trying to avoid the jail time or plead not guilty, I just want to keep from losing everything in the meantime. Court is tomorrow and I have been appointed a public defender whom I've tried contacting a few times with no luck. Tomorrow will be the first time I can speak with him to ask him where I stand. Please share your thoughts! Thank you.
I would have a long talk with your attorney, explain to him what is going on, and hopefully he can convince the judge...
In a random traffic stop, I was given a PBT and my BAC was below the legal limit so no DUI charge was given. The trooper later told my employer I had traces of alcohol on my breath resulting in termination of employment. Does this violate my right to privacy since no DUI was given?
It might, but what's your remedy? Sounds like small town USA to me and you're frankly SOL.
There was 3 in the car and he only states two people and the third has written to me that he tried to make him claim and he couldn't go through with a lie we was all drinking together and he encouraged me to drive ,his solicitors also have said car was a write off but it isn't photo proof aswell was told by defendant to run from the scene but I didn't trying to sue me for personal injury I was also made bankrupt in July the accident happened nov 2013 I strongly believe he was aiding and betting but could you help and give me more advice many thanks.
