I myself am underage. We were in somebodies' dorm room just watching TV and listening to music. There was alcohol, but we were being responsible. The campus police just opened the door and issued us tickets for the alcohol. We were cooperative and did everything as asked. We were also not breathalyzed . I received an ordinance which would lead to my license being suspended for 3 months. I asked the cop if we were being overly loud and he said no. This is also my first offense of any kind. Is there any chance that my ticket gets reduced?
If you retain an attorney, you might be able to get your ordinance violation charge reduced to disorderly conduct or...
I have been arrested for DUI in Sept 2009 in Tempe AZ which later reduced to reckless driving in april 2010 with 670$ fine, and 8 hour of school and one month of license suspension. Currently I am working as Full time in Ohio. I am planning to go for H1b renewal stamping in Canada in Nov 2012, would it be a problem to get stamping done in Canada, how long it takes in Canada to get stamping done. What is advisable to do?
Only a Canadian Immigration lawyer can answer this question. I would suggest reposting to show Canada as your location....
Hello. I got court supervision for a DUI last December in Illinois. Along with that, my license was automatically suspended by the Secretary of State. I have paid my fines to the state as well as satisfying all requirements of the court, but they still have not returned my license, despite mailed letters and faxed requests. I now live in California, so it would be difficult to go to the courthouse and retrieve it myself. How long does the court usually take to return a driver's license, and what is the typical process a person must undergo to have it returned? Could I have my lawyer pick it up? Thank you.
You can apply for a replacement license. Or better yet get a CA license because if you get a DUI in any state while you...
I got arrested for a DUI in Bureau County, IL. I had parked my car about 30 seconds away from a friend's house and had contacted a different friend to come and give me a ride home, because I knew I wasn't able to drive, and I also had him call the cops for the friend whose house I left, because I was afraid her boyfriend was going to hurt her or her child. When the cop showed up on the scene, I was sitting in my car trying to stay warm since I had mistakenly parked it in a snowy school yard instead of what I thought was a snow covered parking lot. The cop saw that I was a little unbalanced while I was trying to help push the car out, so he gave me a breathalizer test, which I blew a 0.176, and they arrested me. This is my first offense, and I had a spot free record before this incident
From a practical standpoint, your biggest issue is that this (presumably) will be tried in Bureau County. Small county...
I was recently convicted of dui. It's my second arrest, but first conviction. I know I will be revoked for a minimum of 1 year. My question is will the letter I get from the SoS show a starting date for the revocation that is set for AFTER the letter is sent out, as was the case with the SSS letter they sent? Or am I considered revoked once my paper work hits their system. If thats the case, how would I know exactly when my revocation starts?
Yours is an administrative question for the Sec. of State and this is a general legal Q and A forum. Call Jesse White'...

I have 2 DUI arrests on my record (IL). 1 conviction, 1 w/ court supervision. How can I go about mentioning this on a job app?
First DUI on October 30th, 2011 for which I received court supervision. Second one was on September 10th, 2012 for which I did get a conviction. How can I disclose this on a job application/interview and do I come clean with both arrests or just the 2nd which was a conviction? What would be the best way possible to do this?
Both the conviction and the arrest will show, so, you'd best be totally honest about it.
