Erica Lynn Velez, 26, Tama, pleaded guilty to charges of attempted burglary and assault with a dangerous weapon. She was sentenced to a suspended two-year prison term and fined and assessed court costs totaling $2,233 on the burglary charge. Comment?

Federal officials say a former eastern Iowa police chief has pleaded guilty to charges of stealing a police gun and lying to a federal agent. The U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Iowa says 47-year-old Jeffrey Filloon, of Toledo, Iowa, pleaded guilty to the counts Thursday in Cedar Rapids' federal courthouse. Comment?

A former Tama Police Department chief plead guilty in federal court Thursday to possessing, selling and disposing of a stolen firearm and making false statements to a FBI Special Agent. Jeffrey Filloon, 47, from Toledo is accused of stealing and pawning a Tama police service weapon, then lying to a FBI special agent who was investigating the theft and other missing property. Comment?
