Somebody killed the 70-plus persons who were shot in the 2010 military-police operation in Tivoli Gardens. Maybe it should be called military and police operations separately because from all indications and the testimony at the Tivoli commission of enquiry, the Jamaica Constabulary Force and the Jamaica Defence Force were doing their own thing. Comment?

Retired Major General Stewart Saunders, former chief of defence staff, testifies during yesterday's sitting of the West Kingston Commission of Enquiry at the Jamaica Conference Centre in downtown Kingston. Following the army's admission that more than three dozen mortar rounds were fired in Tivoli Gardens during the May 2010 police-military operations, the Office of the Public Defender has signalled that the commission probing the conduct of the operations will hear evidence that 13 fragments from the blasts were found in the body of one victim. Comment?

A section tagged 'political impact' in the police's strategic plan to enter Tivoli Gardens and capture Christopher 'Dudus' Coke yesterday became an issue during the continued examination of Deputy Commissioner Glenmore Hinds. The plan was developed by the Police High Command, with Hinds playing a critical role as part of the 'Gold Command' of senior officers who would pass it on for execution in the bid to arrest Coke. Comment?
