OWI in Michigan. I had a high bac.
On my ticket the officer didn't write "enhanced OWI" it's just "OWI" with ordinance number 257.625 (1) does this mean I will just be charged with regular OWI? My lawyer told me she feels that's a good thing. However I've only spoke with her once and she hasn't seen the ticket or arraignment paper. It also doesn't say enhanced on the arraignment paper. Just looking for more opinions.
Your official charge is not what's on the ticket the officer wrote. It will be the charge the city attorney or...
Can I write my arresting officer after getting an OWI?
I'm a female and was arrested Saturday night/Sunday morning for OWI. I would like to write my arresting officer a letting thanking him for being so polite and to apologize and let him know I have a lot of remorse. Is that ok? Should I not?
You can, but I would advise against it until you discuss it with a lawyer. What you really need to concentrate on is...
Needing reassurance.
I got an OWI on Saturday night. My BAC was extremely high .27 this is my first offense. I have a completely clean record, not even a traffic ticket. My attorney assures me I won't spend time in jail. I was polite and cooperated completely with the police, so I think my arrest report won't be terrible. I have an appointment for alcohol counceling set for the day after my arraignment. I plan on attending AA meetings before then. Haven't consumed alcohol since the arrest don't plan to in the foreseeable future. My question is how high is the chance I will have jail time? And, is there anything else I could be doing to be proactive?
you should listen to your attorney and not necessarily 2nd guess him. he likely knows the system you're in.
Officer drove me home.
Hello - I have a prior dui conviction within the year. Unfortunately I tied on too many. I went home (at least I thought) and I pulled in someone else's drive way and past out. I was in the driver seat and keys were in the ignition. The absurd thing was I was down my own street, just wrong house. the resident called the police. When an officer came to my car, he was very nice. Asked me a few questions, and noticed I lived right down the street. He took me for a ride home and told me be would let me go if my wife answers the phone. This was at 3am. My wife answered, be let me go, and my wife and the officer picked up my car. The officer did not take any sobriety tests, no ticket was issued, and be gave me my license back. Can future charges for dui be brought?
Yes, unfortunately, they can. Wow, what a nice cop. I would not ask him about it, but I would contact a local...
I went in for arraignment for dui and the judge told me to get daily PBT"s. I was not given any paperwork explaining this.
I was just sent home. Is this normal? Nothing was explained to me. Like what the consequences would be if I missed days. Can someone tell me the Michigan rules about this..how it works and how do I report the results of PBT"s. Thank you.
Contact the probation department of the court ASAP to confirm the logistics of how you enroll in and submit to daily...
Drunk driving, high bac. I was refused inpaitent treatment...I contacted an agency that funds inpaient treatment
When I talked to them they said they would not fund my treatment because I did not drink enough.Without this agency's help I am unable to recieve the help I need..(Michigan).About 2 weeks later I was pulled over for a DUI. Will the fact that I tried to get help prior to my DUI help my case concerning sentincing? Please do not give me a genaric answer!!!
I have found that attempts to seek treatment will impress some DAs and/or judges, and other could care less. You are...
Looks like my dui may be thrown out. I need to know about getting my license back in the state of Michigan.
The secretary of state sent me a letter stating that I was a habitual offender. I refused a breath test and was charged with the dui. If my charges are dismissed will the refusal still prevent me from having my license? What should I do?
No, because your refusal alone is a separate incident which requires license suspension. You would likely have an...
