I was pulled over for suspicion of DUI on Ventura Blvd. in Studio City...
After quickly retrieving my license and registration, being polite to the officer and completing a "follow the finger" fst on the sidewalk the officer said to return to my car. He then told me I was free to go. Am I completely in the clear? (No breath test was given at all.)
No arrest. No snaching of your license. You are safe.
First time DUI with accident and property damage. What are my options?
I got into an accident on Sunday, making a left turn onto a freeway ramp and hitting a freeway sign and fence. While the tow truck was removing my car, a CHP pulled up and gave me a field sobriety test after asking if I had been drinking that night. (I told them I had, but not for over 2 hours). I blew over the .08 limit and was arrested. I blew under the limit at the courthouse when booked, and thus my license wasn't relinquished. After a night in jail and dealing with the accident itself, I am looking into legal representation. What are the possible enhancements with this charge (because of the accident) and what should I be looking for in order to not have this momentary lapse in judgement affect my long term job and employment opportunities? (I am a working actor in Los Angel

Convicted of wet reckless (BAC .10), first offense - what to expect at DMV hearing if I lose?
I was convicted of a wet reckless (BAC .10), it was my first offense. No prior arrest record for anything. Judge ordered me to do 12 hours of alcohol classes, 3 years of probation and a fine. My DMV hearing is coming up, wanting to know what I can expect if I lose? How many months suspension? IID? More alcohol classes?
If DMV suspends, it's for 4 months, with the ability to get a restricted license after 30 days (and by jumping through...
How much would it cost to hire a lawyer for a DUI case?
occured march 9. no alcohol involved. tested positive for cocaine within 24 hours. eligible for prop 36 regardless of dui charge outcome. already served 5 days in jail at time of arrest. 2nd dui. Fist dui occured 2003 at age 18.
There isn't a short answer for you. Be sure, however, you would be smart to have a lawyer for your case. Consult with...
Do I have grounds to report the attorney I hired for my DUI case or get my money back?
I hired a lawyer (and paid a lot of money) to have him represent me in my DUI case. I have a fulltime job and have to leave the country soon so I hired him to be my representative in all matters of my DUI case. After the initial court date (where all he did was plead guilty) he refuses to go to the courthouse anymore to hand in my proof of completion documents, etc stating that its not his problem anymore. He's also extremely rude when we are communicating and says that I need to work around his schedule - he pretty much treats me as if I am employed by him rather than the other way around.
I'm not really certain this attorney did anything which warrants you getting your money back. I'd imagine you signed a...
Am I obligated to pay for the instructor's "no show" DUI classes?
I am on the 3 months court ordered DUI program. On 3 occasions the instructor didn't show up, so after 10 minutes the entire group went home with the credit for the class given but also charged for the class as it actually took place as well. Is it up to the facility to decide it or there is some law dictating whether the charges can be applied or not.
I know of no law on the matter. You might check with your attorney. I guess as long as you are getting credit you do...
Would I be able to avoid a DWI?
I was pulled over for passing an officer on the freeway. I complied with the field test but declined the Breathalyzer. I had 5 drinks in the span of 4 hours and was afraid to blow over. I was arrested for suspicion and I took the blood test 2.5 hours later. The officers didn't take my license so i don't have to contact the DMW. A DUI is not likely since the officers returned my licence and I'm estimating my BAC will be along 0.02-0.04. Is a "wet reckless" likely? This is a first offence.
You aren't going to get a meaningful answer from a stranger on the Internet, especially without the actual test results....
