I received good answers to my question of if I need to advise my insurance company of My PBJ DUI. The specific question on the questionnaire asks if anyone on the policy has "had a motor vehicle violation" if I answer yes then they want the date and violation type. I've grown up and taken responsibility for a stupid mistake 2 yrs ago and feel like going go be in trouble now with my insurance company. Please offer any advice. I've already spent $10,000 in fees fines and probation costs.
I'm not sure what your question is. However, you need to be forthcoming about your past. It's good that you're now...
Ex husband plead guilty to a DUI last week. He refuses to tell me if he can legally drive right now. From what I have read his license is probably revoked since this is his second offense, but he claims the first was not a conviction and he is driving legally. He drives our kids to practices and our pick up spot and I would prefer that he let me handle transportation if he has no license, but he refuses. I don't want our kids put in a situation where dad is getting arrested if he gets pulled over for a tail light being out on the way to practice. Thoughts?
You can look up the disposition here: http://casesearch.courts.state.md.us/inquiry/inquiry-index.jsp If he was...
I am a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland. I got a DUI in July 2013 and got a PBJ upon hearing. I just got a letter from Maryland board of nursing (MBON) asking for additional information for investigation. I have been in my best behavior since my DUI. I was not much of a party girl to begin with; just some really poor decision. What is going to happen to my license? I was so consumed about getting it over with, I did not realize that I had to tell the MBON about my case.
Consult with the attorney that handled your DUI case or use the "Find a Lawyer" function to find an attorney that...
The insurance was supposed send the settlement check to me. I was told that there was an error in the processing and they have to re-do it again. They will send the release paper and the check together. Today, the car was listed on eBay and was sold for $1,125.00. The original estimate to repair is $8,456.00. They are only paying me $5,700.00 because the guy is under insured. So I sold the car on eBay ($1,125) to add to the $5,700. I bought another car which is $13,200.00 . I have not sign any paper from the insurance that I accepted the offer. Can they stop the check payment if they find out that I sold the car already even if we already agreed on the settlement amount? I need to send the title to the new buyer real soon. Should I cancel the sale? The buyer is from London, UK. Thanks
Who advised you to do all of this? Best bet is to call your insurance company now to straighten out this mess.
I was recently accepted into a very competitive program in school. The next step is a physical & criminal background check. The only time I've been in trouble with the law was in 2005 when I received PBJ for a DUI. I was only 21 at the time & I learned my lesson. I'm concerned that the DUI will show on my record once it's pulled by the program directors. I don't know what to do.
Generally, a "probation before judgment" (PBJ) disposition can be expunged. However, the Maryland legislature, in order...
I was given 2yrs. PBJ for a DUI in Maryland. My probation ends in 2weeks and I just received an Auto Renewal questionnaire. I'm 21 and on my parents ERIE policy which they have had for 20+ yrs. They are asking for any motor vehicle violations, so I assume I need to disclose. Will I be terminated or incur a large increase?
No. A PBJ is not a conviction. It will not affect your insurance rates.
I am currently on unsupervised DUI probation before judgment in the state of Maryland until August. I was originally on supervised probation but I filed a motion and went back to court in January and the judge gave me unsupervised probation with no conditions except show up to court dates. I just received a citation for consuming alcohol on public property last night and I would like to know if this will violate my probation. It says that the citation requires me to go to court and pay a $100 fine. I am 21 and my probation does not have the abstain from alcohol use condition. A few months ago when I was speaking with a supervisor at my probation office, he said they would not violate me unless I got another DUI. Should I contact him and tell him? How should I go about this?
One of the standard conditions of probation is to obey all laws. If the citation you received is a criminal citation,...
