  • Sterlington man charged with disturbing the peace

    A Sterlington man was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace through loud and profane language last week after authorities received a complaint of a man verbally assaulting a person at the town's recreational park. Sterlington police assistant chief Robert Bice made contact with the victim, who claimed Timothy E. Smith, 57, of 102 Rogers St., Sterlington, had yelled at her and said, "Bring your dog over here, b***h," according to the April 10 arrest report.
