A Stephens City man has been sentenced to 13 years in prison in the death of man killed by a stray bullet fired by the defendant. Eddie Alvin Debraux Sr. 48, received the sentence in Frederick County Circuit Court Monday after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter and several related charges stemming from the death Aug. 3 of James Trenary, 64, died at his residence on Nottoway Drive in Stephens City, which is on the same street where Debraux was living at the time of the shooting. The estate of a Virginia man fatally shot by Martinsburg police is appealing the dismissal of a $200 million lawsuit. The Journal reports that attorney Rocco J. DeLeonardis filed the appeal Friday in the U.S. 4th Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia, on behalf of the estate of 50-year-old Wayne Arnold Jones of Stephens City, Virginia. Comment?

A Virginia attorney has appealed a federal judge's decision last year to throw out a $200 million lawsuit filed against the city of Martinsburg and five police officers who fatally shot a schizophrenic homeless man more than 20 times after they say he stabbed an officer with a knife. The appeal was filed Friday in the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals by Rocco J. DeLeonardis on behalf of the estate of 50-year-old Wayne Arnold Jones, of Stephens City, Virginia. Comment?
