A Slidell-area man pleaded guilty to manslaughter in a plea agreement Monday and was given 20-year prison sentences for shooting two men to death in 2010, the St. Tammany Parish district attorney's office said. Rhamad R. Jackson, 27, accepted a plea agreement before the start of his trial on two counts of first-degree murder, a charge that could have resulted in a life sentence or the death penalty. A homeless man wielding a gun triggered a brief but intense encounter with two Slidell police officers Tuesday night in the 1700 block of Gause Boulevard.
