How long does it take for a Suspended license to go into effect?
I plead guilty to a DUI on 12/13/11 for DUI. The DUI was from back in 07 of 2007. After I was arrested for the DUI they took my license, but the officer didn't fill out the paperwork correctly and I received my license back in the mail 2 weeks later. I have had a valid license ever since. Will they still suspend my license, and if so does it normally take this long for them to notify you of a suspension, it has been about 6 weeks since my guilty plea. Did I essentially win the license hearing since they gave me back my license? If so, will they still suspend my license? I ordered my driving record last week and it showed no indication of a DUI on my record, at least not yet.
Yes, they will now suspend your license. They will use the rules in effect at the time of the suspension, although...
How long does it take to suspend a license?
I had court where I plead guilty of DUI back on 12/13/11. My case had been dragging on since 07/2008, and intially my license was taken from me by the officer. Due to filing the paperwork wrong I received my license back 2 weeks later, and I have had a valid license since the arrest in 2008. It has now been 1-month since my guilty plea, and I have still not received any paperwork about my license suspension. Kansas has a driver's license check online that is updated daily, so I check that everyday to make sure it's still valid. Here are my questions: Is this a normal process to have this take a month? Is it possible that they will not suspend my license? Could the paperwork have been misplaced, lost, destroyed, etc to where they won't suspend? (Wishful thinking I know)
It is unlikely that the paperwork was lost or destroyed. I suppose anything is possible but it is very unlikely that...
What happens if I a DUI is never actually taken to court after appearance?
I was arrested for a DUI 18 months ago. I hired an attorney who appeared for me and was told by his office what the court was going to require me to do. I did the classes and provided the documentation to his office and was told I needed to pay about 800.00 but I did not need to pay it immediately becasue their was a judge who retired or passed away.. somehting like that, And that the municpal system was in chaos and he would be providing me somehing in writing. I contacted the attorney in October (one yuear after arrest) and was told to go ahead and provide the money to them. I sent the cashier check but nothing has happened and I know that I do not have the DUI Conviction on my record, Is there a chance that they lost the chance to prosecute?
The obvious answer here is for you to contact the attorney that you already hired... "What the court was GOING to...
Is co-signer for loan of car responsible for the DUI's fines if the DUI can not pay?
My daughter who is about to be released from rehab was stopped and charged with a DUI, driving without a license, and having an open container. If she drives again and has an injury accident (or not) and is fined and can not pay damages, etc. can the financial burden be put back on Family /co-signer of loan for the Daughters's auto?
As co-signer you are responsible for paying loan on car if she does not pay. You are not responsible for her moving...
Whats the best and worse case scenario for my DUI and pot possesion case?
i have been convicted of DUI aswell as possesion of pot and paraphernalia. I have had other cases that have been dropped in the past which would make me a first time offendor if i am charged. Im 19 and blew .079 on the field sobriety test and when i was put under miranda i did not consent to answer anything involving their charges..... probably not relevant but when i was placed under arrest for dui they searched my car although it is not under my name, thus, finding pataphernalia and pot
Convicted means you have been found guilty. Do you mean you have been charged? I will assume so. The best case...
I am on probation for a DUI and recently got a driving on suspended 1st time. Am I facing immediate jail time?
I am almost finished with my probation. I only need to pay $1000 dollars and I'm finished. I have court July 22nd to follow up with the judge. I also got in a wreck and didn't stop to give information. My fiance was having a panic attack and needed her meds. The guy I hit followed me home. I am going through an eviction process with my fiance and we have a 9 month old son with us. I cannot leave them behind and do the 12 month underling sentence.
I don't know about KS but you would 100% guaranteed be facing 364 days in jail in FL for DWLS and an additional 364 for...
