Police on Thursday released the identities of a woman found shot to death in a wrecked car in Russellville and the man they have charged in her killing. The woman, 39-year-old Rachel Michele Chisum of Atkins, was found inside a car that ran off the road into a fence Wednesday morning in the 200 block of James Circle, the Russellville Police Department said in a news release. A 33-year-old white male is in jail after crashing his car into a residence on the corner of Front Street and Highway 7 on Thursday. The suspect is being held pending bond at the Pope County Detention Center and could face charges of burglary and felony fleeing. Comment?

Four Pope County residents waited for charges to be filed against them Wednesday in two cases involving sexual assault of children. According to the Pope County sheriff's office, Paul Myers, 41, of Dover; Kenneth Myers, 43, hometown unavailable; and Christopher Wilkins, 39, and Autumn Wilkins, 24, both of Russellville, were arrested on accusations of rape. The Pope County sheriff's office said Monday it was investigating the shooting death of an Atkins man as a homicide. The sheriff's office issued a news release saying deputies responded to a shooting at 2223 Edwards Road in Atkins at 12:55 a.m. Monday and found a wounded Hurley, who lived at the address. Comment?

A man has been charged Friday in the death of a Russellville woman whose body was found in a Conway motel room. An employee at the Days Inn found the body of Susan Heather Stubbs, 41, lying face down on the floor of the room just before 6:30 p.m. March 6. Police said in a court affidavit filed Friday that Stubbs died of strangulation after a cord was wrapped around her neck by her boyfriend, Scotty Gardner, 53, of Mayflower. Comment?
