Knox County District Attorney Geoffrey Rushlau said his office is still reviewing the case of a Rockland man who shot an intruder in his home three months ago. Harvey Lembo, 67, filed a lawsuit earlier this month against Park Place Associates and Standford Management LLC because he was threatened with eviction from Park Place Apartments if he did not give up his firearm. The district attorney said Friday he hasn't decided yet whether charges would be filed against a 67-year-old wheelchair-bound man who shot an alleged intruder in his apartment in August. District Attorney Geoffrey Rushlau issued a news release in reaction to a statement made in a lawsuit filed earlier this week by Harvey Lembo, who seeks to prevent the owner of Park Place apartments and its management company from evicting him or prohibiting him from having a gun. A 65-year-old former Camden man will spend 75 days in jail for assaulting a Camden woman last year and then repeatedly violating protection orders issued by the court. Randy B. Smith pleaded guilty Wednesday afternoon in Knox County Unified Court to several counts of domestic violence assault, violating protective orders and violating conditions of bail. Comment?

Harvey Lembo names Park Place Associates and Stanford Management LLC as defendants, and is seeking a permanent injunction prohibiting the complex from evicting him on the grounds that he owns a firearm. The Maine Attorney General's Office has filed a motion to dismiss a Federal lawsuit against a Judge and the Knox County District Attorney's Office for prosecuting a Rockland man accused of domestic violence assault, contending the plaintiff has no standing to challenge it. The plaintiff, who is not being named as she is considered a victim in a pending criminal proceeding, filed the case in October, alleging that prosecutors were violating her constitutional rights and placing her in a false light as a victim. A former Knox County Jail Guard convicted in 2014 of sexual assault against an inmate was sentenced to serve eight months in jail for violating his probation by assaulting another woman. Adam Grierson, 29, of Union, pleaded guilty in August 2014 to a charge of gross sexual assault for having a coerced sexual relationship with a female inmate at the jail while he was employed as a corrections officer. A 28-year-old Otisfield man is being held without bail at the Knox County Jail in Rockland after his arrest on charges of sexual assault against a child. Nicholas Emerson was arrested Saturday morning and brought to the Knox County Jail and charged with one count of gross sexual assault and five counts of unlawful sexual contact. Comment?
