Police say a man used a woman's debit card to withdraw nearly $8,000 over a four-month span. Azriah Ellerbe, 55, of Eastside Drive in Rockingham, is accused of obtaining $7,828.95 between Mar. 23 and July 13 using a State Employees Credit Union Visa debit card - that had the victim's photo on the front - by presenting it as his own, according to an arrest warrant issued Tuesday. Espinoza, an 18-year-old Rockingham man, faces three felony counts each of selling marijuana and possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, in addition to a felony count of maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance. As the Daily Journal reported in Saturday's edition, sheriff's deputies say Espinoza sold marijuana to a confidential informant three times within the span of a week. Comment?

A Rockingham man is charged with shooting five people at the State Line Club last weekend, Marlboro County Sheriff Fred Knight said Monday. Traquan Dominic Wall, 19, of 1324 Cauthen Drive, is accused in an Aug. 16 shooting at the nightclub located a few hundred feet outside Richmond County near the South Carolina state line. Comment?

BENNETTSVILLE, SC Marlboro County Sheriff's deputies responded to a club shooting early Sunday morning August 16, involving five people who were shot, and several cut from broken glass. The shooting took place at the State Line Club on Hwy 38N in Bennettsville. Comment?

Police accuse Marvin Edward Steele, 29, of South Brookwood Avenue, of breaking into a Fayetteville Road home on June 10, according to an arrest warrant. The warrant also states that Steele was in possession of a stolen antique Buck stove - valued at $600 - and sold stolen metal to Fortress Metal for an unspecified amount of cash. Comment?

India Niesha Lyons, 28, of Forest Way Road in Rockingham, is accused of stealing nine blank company checks from America's Best Value Inn on July 8, according to an arrest warrant issued July 22. Lyons was arrested by Rockingham police on Aug. 1 and charged with larceny by an employee. She was booked into the Richmond County Jail at 10:15 that night under a $5,000 secured bond that night and bailed out the following day. Comment?

According to court documents, 51-year-old Eric Allen Taylor, whose address is listed as "streets of Rockingham," was indicted on a felony charge of first-degree rape by a Richmond County grand jury on July 13. An order for arrest was issued 10 days later and Taylor was booked into the Richmond County Jail Friday evening under a $150,000 secured bond. His court date is scheduled for Aug. 3. Taylor was arrested in May on misdemeanor charges of sexual battery and assault on a female for allegedly striking a woman on the face and head and forcing her to perform oral sex on him. Comment?
