    A 19-year-old is recovering from injuries after a 21-year-old allegedly assaulted him with a wrench Tuesday night. Caleb Giannini, of Rochester, was arrested after law enforcement responded to a report of a fight about 9:45 p.m. at 1618 Marion Road.

    The man who was killed in an officer-involved shooting and the officer who was injured during the altercation have been identified Friday by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. The deceased was identified as Ronald Dean Johnson, 41, of Austin.

    A Rochester man has been charged with attempted first-degree murder after authorities say he stabbed a woman in the neck while resisting his sexual advances. Erickson Danga Godi, 23, also faces additional felony counts of attempted first-degree criminal sexual conduct, second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, aggravated stalking, threats of violence and false imprisonment.

  • Police arrest man wanted for domestic assault

    A Rochester man wanted in connection with a days-long assault was arrested early Saturday at the residence where the alleged attack occurred. Police learned Lawrence Zachary Chatman, 24, was in the apartment in the 4700 block of 14th Avenue Northwest; officers who surrounded the building were able to spot him as he tried to flee through a window.

    A man from Lake City has been charged with multiple felonies after authorities say he struck a woman with his car, seriously injuring her, plowed head-in into another vehicle, then ran from the scene of that crash. Shane Lester Gullickson, 40, made his first appearance Tuesday in Wabasha County District Court, where he faces three counts of criminal vehicular operation and two counts of second-degree assault.

  • Woman sentenced in theft of $9K worth of clothes

    A Rochester woman was allowed to enter a diversion program after admitting to stealing more than $9,000 worth of clothing from the store where she worked.     The second of two adults accused of assaulting a juvenile at a birthday party last summer has been sentenced to about two years in prison. I ask for my onibus and got a rule 201 order on me . I was told by my public attorney I was stupid for bailing out because the bca wouldnt be able to make it. ,but I know if I did get found guiilty it would be hard to appeal with out the evidence. My public defender also told me he get it drop if I got my medication list to him ,after I ask him how my jury trail scheuldle without me having heading to waive or ask for onibus hearing.I need a lawery that isnt afriad to defend his clients and wants to better the system by not letting it get away with due process and civil rights issues when they break them.
