Fayetteville police said Demonte Deon Jones, of the 6400 block of Raeford Road, turned himself in at the Cumberland County Detention Center at about 12 p.m. He is charged with first-degree murder and felony conspiracy in connection with the Saturday night incident. According to police, Jones and Brian Lamar Martin Jr., 20, of the 200 block of Bahia Lane in Raeford, shot 26-year-old Rakeem McGoogan on Strickland Bridge Road. Comment?

Fayetteville police said officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Strickland Bridge Road and found that a car had slammed into a home near Applecross Avenue. The driver, 26-year-old Rakeem McGoogan, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where it was determined that he had been shot. Comment?

The televisiobn's website says Ahmad Garrison, 27, was arrested by the Pender County Sheriff's Office on Thursday night and charged with soliciting a child by computer and human trafficking-child victim. Garrison is listed as the head boys' track and field coach and the head indoor track coach on the Topsail High School website. Comment?

RAEFORD, N.C. - A woman found tied up in a Hoke County shed Tuesday said the man accused of kidnapping her was her boyfriend of eight months. The suspect, Gary McNair, appeared in court Wednesday morning after being arrested Tuesday after deputies said he kidnapped Tara Baker and locked her up in the shed behind his mother's house. Two teenagers are among five people who have been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection to the January death of a Robeson County man. Donald Preston Chavis, 23, was shot in the head and died during a Jan. 19 robbery that occurred on Tucker Road near Pembroke. Comment?
