  • Report: Six Arrested During May At High School

    Six arrests were made by Lower Pottsgrove police - three for disorderly conduct in two separate incidents, and one each for "underage drinking," harassment by communication, and an assault - among eight incidents reported during the 20 days of May 2018 classes held at Pottsgrove High School, according to a report provided to the township Board of Commissioners. Incidents that did not involve arrests were one for investigation of an alleged sex offense, and a second for a domestic disturbance involving a student and parent.

  • June Preliminary Hearing Set For Alleged Robber

    A June 21 preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a Pottstown area man, arrested Tuesday by Lower Pottsgrove police, as the alleged perpetrator of a strong-arm burglary that occurred only two days earlier at the Turkey Mill Minit Market convenience store No. 260, 3051 E. High St. Township Police Chief Michael Foltz praised work by his detective and officers, and extended thanks for assistance from the Pottstown Police Department, in the quick apprehension of Patrick Ryan Gragg, 25 .

  • Township Police Investigate Alleged H&K Robbery

    Lower Pottsgrove police have identified, but are withholding the name of, a person of interest with whom they want to talk about an alleged burglary that occurred late last month at the grounds of the Pottstown Trap Rock Quarry and Reading Site Contractors' garage on Linfield Road. The crime is being actively investigated by township detectives, Chief Michael Foltz said Thursday .

    About three weeks after this February's school shootings in Parkland FL , proud parent and Lower Pottsgrove Township Commissioner Robert "Bob" Mohollen was obviously concerned about the safety of children, including his own, attending classes in the Pottsgrove School District. What were township police doing, he asked Chief Michael Foltz, to ensure their security? Foltz ran through measures his department and school officials had already taken, and said the group "was trying to figure out what we can learn from different events."

    A 38-year-old Pottstown man faced charges Tuesday afternoon in the courtroom of Magisterial District Justice Edward C. Kropp Sr. for what Lower Pottsgrove police claim was his strong-arm robbery of a purse from a 77-year-old woman as she loaded groceries into her car in the parking lot of a Sanatoga supermarket.

  • Suspect Awaits Charges In Alleged Purse Robbery

    Charges are expected to be filed - possibly sometime today , Lower Pottsgrove Police Chief Michael Foltz indicated - against an unnamed suspect who police accuse of committing a strong-arm robbery Monday morning outside the Landis Supermarket at 2190 E. High St. The man was taken into custody after a vehicular chase, but the police investigation is continuing. Police were called to the Landis parking lot Monday at about 9:50 a.m., after a female customer began loading groceries into her car there.
