Limited Permit and received a traffic citation
I have a limited permit with a interlock ignition installed too, the reason is, because I was convicted for a DUI and child Endangerment in October 2014. I am eligible to reinstate my regular licence in April 2016. I received a citation for running a Stop sign 9/24/15. My court arraignment is December 3rd. Will having my court date pushed and delayed over and over until April so I can get my regular license back help me once I handle it in court? Or could I have my regular license taken away and suspended for a year? I was told by a Sheriff that it doesn't matter if I have my regular license by the time the court handles it (if plead guilty), and that my license will automatically get suspended, because I was pulled over with a limited permit at the time.Is this true??? I'm so scared!!
You are correct. The Sheriff is wrong. If your regular class C license is reinstated by the time you dispose of (pay)...
I got a DUI in VA but had a Georgia license
I got a DUI in VA while having a Georgia license, since the DUI my GA license has expired. I never got a VA license but I did get an ID card. I was told by someone that I would not have to go through the hoops that VA has in place for DUI offenders because Georgia is not under the interstate compact, and the DUI will not effect my ability to have a license. Is this true? Thank you.
Even though Georgia is not a member of the Interstate Compact, there is still the National Driver Register which is a...

Was arrested for DUI but license is still valid. Can I drive until Court date?
I was arrested for DUI and arrested for 13 hours before bonded out. I was never given back my license nor a form stating it had been suspended or retained. I went to the DDS to get some type of identification and was told my license was still valid so I was issued a replacement. The only thing I was told was to "keep an eye out" for the status of the license. Am I safe to drive?
No. You need to file an appeal with OSAH within 10 days of the arrest or face a 12 month hard suspension.
What is the best thing for me to do?
On MAY 14th I was caught driving with suspended license and financial Card Theft. I was locked up and had a video hearing where I was given bail. Since then I haven't gotten a court date. My address is consistently updated. I wanted to join the Army and completely forgot about this due to the extenuating time frame. The Army told me that I should bring them paper work showing this is dismissed/ dropped or I won't be able to join. Now my life is on hold and I really want to move forward. Can this be dropped? I have since that time gotten my license back after paying fees and taking a drivers defensive course.
Considering the statute of limitations for the felony charge is 4 years, and considering you're out on bond, it having...
Can an officer wait to request a warrant for DUI 16 months after my arrest?
In 2014, I was arrested for DUI in Georgia. I didn't submit to any tests. During booking, the officer seemed to realize that I had not been drinking and gave me back my license, even though I refused the tests, saying "Well, there's really no reason for me to hold onto this." I had to post bond to be released. I went to court on the date listed on my ticket, but my name wasn't called. I then checked with the a Clerk, and they said they had nothing on file regarding my arrest. 16+ months later, another officer requested an arrest warrant from the Magistrate Judge, and a month after that, the Solicitor filed an accusation for DUI (Less Safe). Can they do this? I've looked online, and seen that the Statute of Limitations for a misdemeanor in Georgia is two years, but that does apply to both the filing of an accusation AND the request of a arrest warrant? Is this common? After checking with the Clerk for 6 months, and hearing nothing for a year, I figured nothing was going to happen with the case.
You need to to have an attorney respond to this. Did they return your bond money? Do they have witnesses? Was there...
Can the fact that I had gum, and the car was stopped help? What is the overall best course of action? Can the fact t
I was charged with a DUI near the Ft. Stewart military base. I was on my way to the base when my car ran out of gas. The areas is very secluded and I didn't get any signal other than emergency numbers. I pulled over and called the military police. I was sitting in the parked car when the cops came. They told me I was under the influence and arrested me. I was told after my breathalizer that I should not have had anything in my mouth for the past 20 minutes but I was in fact chewing gum at the time of my arrest until moments before the test. I have also been charged with a DUI before but it got dropped to careless driving. I blew a .14
Gum will cause a problem with breath tests but you'll have to hire an attorney to fight it.
