I was arrested for a 1st time OWI in Michigan but am a resident of California. It seems many 1st time OWIs in Michigan are plea bargained down to a OWVI. The OWVI seems to not require a blood alcohol level above .08 but just notes the driver was impaired. If I accept a plea bargain to the OWVI will California interpret that as a "wet reckless" charge or a DUI? And is it dependent on related information (blood alcohol reading, speed, etc.)?

Other than this DUI I got 7 years ago, where I just went in and pleaded no contest and was convicted , I completed all the classes and fines etc that the court required. I am a minor with only a driver's permit in California. I crashed a car and took a breathalyzer test, my BAC was .02%. I was cited at the scene of the crash for driving without a DL, and DUI. In court, the DUI charge was dropped because of special circumstances. I was given probation and community service hours. The DMV says I am not able to get my license because they were only notified of the first citation, nothing more. I am planning on appealing their decision. My uncle, who is undocumented, was pulled over on Saturday for driving under the influence. After being tested, he also came out positive to Marijuana.
