Will anise cookies give a false reading on a breathalyzer?
Was given a port of entry breathalyzer test after consuming anise cookies. Blew a .017 and was put out of service. I am a non-drinker.
I am not sure what you mean by "put out of service." .017 is well below the legal limit. As for the cookies, I have...
I was caught shoplifting at Walmart under $100 never had a theft charge before although I have had a DUI I got a year ago.
I am panicking wondering what to expect, I have been told that generally the jugde will just give you a fine. I did not get arrested at the time just got a ticket, so when I go to court is he going to make me go to jail or go to book in and get released, am I going to have to bail out I just need to know what to expect, I've been so scared and realize I made a huge mistake but I do not want to go to jail. I have 2 kids and they need me ! Please let me know what to expect. Thank You
Historically, this is the type of case that a prosecutor will offer a "plea in abeyance." That means if you complete...
Can I be charged for an ambulance taking my blood for a dui?
I was pulled over under the influence of marijuana and they called an ambulance to come and take my blood, I just got a bill in mail for 495$ to pay for the ambulance, is there anything I can do
Yes, you are required to pay the bill but that is the least of your problems. You only have 10 days to contact the DMV...
I got caught drinking underage and I am 18 years old living in Utah. what is the possible punishments ?
I was drinking with friends and we decided to drive and we got pulled over but I wasn't the one driving I was in the back seat. The cop made us blow in a breathalyzer but he didn't tell me how much I blew he just gave me a citation and let me go. I'm going to the city court and this is my first offense
I recommend that you consult with an attorney about your situation. If you are convicted of this offense, you will...
Is it possible to get a small business license in Utah with a drug related felony?
my husband and I want to start our own adventure, he is a great handyman and I would do all the paperwork, etc. but I was told by someone that I couldn't get a business license because they will do a background check and I had a drug charge like 5 years ago which was a 3rd degree felony. I did my time and have been clean since. am I really being punished for this 5 years after I have paid my debt to society?
I am not aware of any blanket prohibitions for felons to own a business. Their may be more specific business...
Is bloodshot eyes enough probable cause to search a vehicle/make a dui arrest?
I was pulled over fro a brake light and speeding(when I really wasn't I'm positive that hes lying about that) he came up to the window and ask if I had been smoking because my eyes look red, I said no, he then pulled me out of the car, and proceed to do a field sobriety test without mentioning that I had a choice in that. I did not consent for them to search the car I was driving but they did it anyway while the other one tested me and then they proceeded to arrest me for DUI.
Get in touch with a criminal defense attorney. Most everyone on avvo offers free consults. It's easier for attorneys to...
Can you get on house arrest instead of doing jail time for felony dui?
Anthony was recently arrested on a warrant for his felony dui. the court issued the warrant the day we went into court (may 9th) even though they said they would send him a summons. they mentioned nothing about a warrant. his mother is dying and his fiance is manically depressed and cannot live alone. this is his 3rd dui charge. one of the charges was wrongfully done, he was a victim in an accident and the lost his tests. we think he'll be sentenced for about a year. but it would be easier and cheaper for the state to just allow him to be on house arrest and supervised probation. is there any way he can make a plea bargain and get this result?
If the prosecutor and then the judge agree then yes. This is not an easy request to negotiate. He is going to need a...
