7 years ago I got a dui. It is my second one but I served a year suspension for the first one. I had a warrant for my arrest and I surrendered myself and was given a promise to appear. I went to court an crown counsel wants to take my licence for a year and give me a fine. This was 7 years ago and I was you g I now have 3 kids and a wife who I support and a good job. If I lose my licence I lose my job and my family will suffer bad. I have the court date pushed for 30 days and I have to go back just wondering what I can do here when I go in front of the judge. I was first arrested for a dui this march and given a fine of 1300. I have been a struggling single parent working full time and I paid my fine, never missed a court a court appearance but in June I was strapped for a ride to work at the last minute, my Mom's car was at my place as she was in the hospital and I didn't even have 2 nickels in my purse to take a cab or bus to work. (I was already reprimanded at work for takig too much time off for my court appearance and legal aid app'ts) so I took my Mom's car to work and on the way home got pulled over. I was not speeding, they said they have a list in the area around my workplace of all the suspended driver's and they were watching me. The police officer said I will get a fine once again and an extension on my dui suspension.
