An attempted drug deal Monday night resulted in one man being shot in the face and two suspects under arrest. Codi Lee Douglas, 20, of 2611 Gihon Road, Parkersburg, is charged with felony counts of malicious wounding and wanton endangerment after allegedly shooting 21-year-old Clayton Fleak of Belleville while Fleak was sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot of the former Taco Bell at 2112 Pike St., Parkersburg, according to a release from city police and Wood County Magistrate Court records. Judge J.D. Beane ruled there would be two trials in the case. Richards, 30, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, was indicted on charges of murder of a child by a guardian or custodian, death of a child by a guardian or custodian and murder, in connection with the death of 1-year-old Ariella Noel Merinar on Aug. 5, 2014 in Parkersburg and grand larceny and petit larceny in connection with theft from the Five Guys restaurant in Vienna. A West Virginia woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for her role in an April 2014 robbery in Columbus' Hilltop neighborhood that resulted in the shooting death of an accomplice. Comment?
