A friend was charged with DUI over 20 years ago in AZ. She didn't show up for court. She now lives in Iowa. How to clear this?
She has never had any priors, she has never had any problems since this time. She is unable to get her driver's license and this was over 20 years ago. She would like to know how to clear this up without having to appear in AZ or serve time. She has been married over 15 years and has 2 children ages 14, 13. She does want to clear this up but is scared they will make her go to AZ or spend time in jail.
She needs to contact an experienced criminal defense attorney who specializes in DUI in Arizona. Recalling the warrant...
I am one of 5 beneficiaries to my dad's estate. My brother is driving his now uninsured car. What can we do to stop this?
This brother does not have a driver's license. His was suspended after his most recent DUI. This was his 3rd DUI; also has public intox charges. Bottom line is that I wouldn't let him borrow a bicycle and certainly am not willing to assume liability for his driving an uninsured car without a license. He is one of the trustees and says he has a right to drive it as a trustee. It was supposed to be sold a couple of months ago but he continues to use it as his own. (Our father died over 3 months ago.) Do the beneficiaries have liability and what can we do to prevent his use of the car and failure to sell as agreed? The attorney for the trust seems to be acting in the interest of the trustees and does not respond when we raise this and other concerns.
who are the other trustees? They should step in a prevent him from driving and sell the vehicle. They are assuming a...
Can my probation officer revoke or violate my probation if I revoke my authorization for her to speak to my doctor?
I've been on probation for 5 years and have done everything right for the last three. I graduated from drug court last October so it's been over a year now, and have still stayed out of trouble. My doctor recently changed my ADD meds from Concerta to Adderall and my PO is pretty upset about it, simply because it shows up in a drug test. I know many people that are prescribed all sorts of drugs by their doctors and don't go through this hassle. She's making me report to the probation office in the halfway house every day now simply because she knows it will make me mad. Any help or suggestions on what I can do? I'm only still on probation because I cannot pay off all of my fines.
Rather than see her as "just trying to make me mad" perhaps she's trying to make sure you're not getting high on those...
How long does it take to get charged with a crime out of state?
Long story short I unknowingly sent an underaged girl a picture of my private area who lives in South Carolina. Her father called me and said he was going to the police that day. This happened in August and I still haven’t heard anything. I was just curious if I need to worry or not anymore since it’s been a few months.
Depends on the state. I suspect there aren't a lot of South Carolina licensed attorneys in Iowa, so you may have to...
Is it normal/legal to have the Scram/breathalyzer requirement for 2 years?
I received the Scram breathalyzer requirement for the full 2 years of my probation for a non-drinking offense. Is that even legal for a judge to give that to me for that long? I did get an OWI previous to the offense that the judge ordered my breathalyzer, but I was already punished by another judge for that charge. I also have talked to people who have had a lot of drinking offenses and they only received the breathalyzer for 1 month at the most. I have to take the test 4 times every day, including the middle of the night. I don't get any sleep. I haven't drank alcohol for 7 months now and I still have 20 months to go for probation. I need to know if this is even a common sentence, because from what I have heard, it is an extremely long time to have someone have to do this.
Such things are up to the Judge. Since you had one previously, perhaps that's why the Court imposed it upon you. You...
DUI charge, wanting to get deferred sentencing can I move to another state?
DUI Charge in Iowa - .013, first offense. Looking to move to Colorado to be with family and get a fresh start. Not going to get a drivers license will just walk or use public transportation. Just want to know if I seek deferred judgment, will I be allowed to move while on probation? Also I was parked on the side of the interstate when a cop pulled up behind me. Does that give me anything?
With the test result you state, if you have a good driving record you may be eligible for a deferred judgment but there...
