I forgot to call the ua hotline on time on Thanksgiving and was wondering if that would violate my probation?
I got caught up in making Thanksgiving dinner and it totally slipped my mind to call but I did call the drug testing center that I have to report to when I'm required to test and they told me they were closed that day and I wouldn't have been required to test.
Since you would not have been able to test, it is unlikely you will be violated. However, if you do get a violation,...
OWI in Michigan. I had a high bac.
On my ticket the officer didn't write "enhanced OWI" it's just "OWI" with ordinance number 257.625 (1) does this mean I will just be charged with regular OWI? My lawyer told me she feels that's a good thing. However I've only spoke with her once and she hasn't seen the ticket or arraignment paper. It also doesn't say enhanced on the arraignment paper. Just looking for more opinions.
Your official charge is not what's on the ticket the officer wrote. It will be the charge the city attorney or...
Can I write my arresting officer after getting an OWI?
I'm a female and was arrested Saturday night/Sunday morning for OWI. I would like to write my arresting officer a letting thanking him for being so polite and to apologize and let him know I have a lot of remorse. Is that ok? Should I not?
You can, but I would advise against it until you discuss it with a lawyer. What you really need to concentrate on is...
Needing reassurance.
I got an OWI on Saturday night. My BAC was extremely high .27 this is my first offense. I have a completely clean record, not even a traffic ticket. My attorney assures me I won't spend time in jail. I was polite and cooperated completely with the police, so I think my arrest report won't be terrible. I have an appointment for alcohol counceling set for the day after my arraignment. I plan on attending AA meetings before then. Haven't consumed alcohol since the arrest don't plan to in the foreseeable future. My question is how high is the chance I will have jail time? And, is there anything else I could be doing to be proactive?
you should listen to your attorney and not necessarily 2nd guess him. he likely knows the system you're in.
