The family of Anthony L. Rybka, the 38-year-old Ogdensburg man who was severely beaten on Halloween, has set up a Facebook page offering a $1,000 reward for anyone with information on the whereabouts of Michael J. Nugent. Mr. Nugent, 30, is being sought by the Ogdensburg City Police in connection with the beating. Comment?

A Ford Street resident who allegedly went on a three-day attempted burglary spree that included trying to force his way into an automated bank teller machine has been arrested by city police. Earl J. Baker, 22, of 1302 Ford St. apartment 4, faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges for a series of attempted break-ins that took place along Ford and Caroline streets between Jan. 17-19, according to Ogdensburg City Police. Two city men were arrested Friday after allegedly squaring off for a knife fight near the corner of New York Avenue and Oak Street. City police say the incident took place at approximately 3:17 p.m. on Friday and involved Scott D.A. George, 20, of 118 Albany Avenue, and Devin A. Lalonde, 24, of 811 Lake St. There was no report of injuries and both men were arrested and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Comment?

An Ogdensburg woman was placed on five years of probation Monday in St. Lawrence County Court for the theft of more than $9,500 between 2012 and 2013. Jennifer I. Hamilton, formerly Jennifer Smithers, 40, of 1006 Lafayette St., pleaded guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny on Oct. 15, 2013, a part of a plea deal with the district attorney's office. Comment?
