Police have released the name of a local man accused of a robbing a local business and assaulting an employee. Michael Matos, 31 of Walpole, was charged Thursday with assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and armed robbery while masked, according to the Norwood Police Department. Comment?

Ian Thomas Peter Leybourn, 31, of Oxford Street: jailed for 12 weeks, plus A 28 compensation, for theft of a coffee machine from Debenhams, and theft of headphones and mobile phone dock from Boyes. Shortly after 6 p.m. on Jan. 10, police in Norwood responded to a report of an armed robbery at an apartment complex on Dean Street. The victim told police that he was robbed at knifepoint by three men and was originally planning on selling an item he advertised on social media to one of the suspects. Comment?

Shortly after 6 p.m., an armed robbery was reported at an apartment complex at 44 Dean St. According to initial reports, the robbery involved three black males in hoodies who showed a knife to the victim, according to Norwood police. A K-9 from Norfolk County Sheriffs Office was on the scene in an attempt to track the suspects, with the investigation to continue by the Norwood Police Department. Comment?

John A. Root, 28, was charged in a Norwood case with breaking and entering a vehicle in the daytime, two counts of larceny from a building, larceny under $250 and receiving a stolen credit card. Police told the Enterprise he will be charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle, larceny over $250, credit card fraud over $250, identity theft and uttering false documents in the Stoughton case. A tip received by police a half hour after asking the public for help has led to the arrest of two Taunton men suspected of stealing items at local gyms, including one in Norwood. John P. On Sunday, a male entered Elite Fitness in Stoughton and proceeded to search for unlocked gym lockers. After discovering an open locker, the suspect took the victim's car keys, unlocked their car, and stole a wallet, according to Mass. Comment?
