A Knightstown man who stole weapons from a local police officer's home before fleeing to South Dakota and leading officers there on a high-speed chase will spend 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to burglary charges. Korey Sawicki, 26, pried open a back door of a Hancock County sheriff's deputy's New Palestine home in late October, taking the officer's badge, two of his personal handguns and other items, investigators said. Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrested and preliminarily charged two men with a homicide from March 2016. Police believe they shot and killed Dazjuan Lyle, 19, on March 5 in the 600 block of North Exeter Avenue. Comment?

Police are crediting quick-thinking neighbors with the arrest of an Indianapolis teen accused of robbing a home in New Palestine on Tuesday morning. Officers were called to the first block of West Main Street in New Palestine after a woman called 911 to say she saw a man enter her neighbor's home. Comment?
