I have a BAIID with a camera and a GPS installed on my truck.
I have a RDP for work use only. I stopped for fast food for dinner and the BAIID went off. I am going to assume that my picture and GPS coordinates were recorded by the device. I have not sent the unit into the SOS yet. When they receive the BAIID will this constitute a violation?
Possibly, contact a local DUI lawyer to help you though this, especially since you're looking at possible jail.
I paid my debt to society for DUI's in my past. How can Illinois penalize me on top of that? Isn't that unconstitutional?
I suffered from the disease of alcoholism for most of my life. During that time I received 5 DUI's and I paid my debt to society for them. Today I have 7 years sober and because of the passage of time I have only 1 DUI on my record. Despite that, I'm told that the state of Illinois has revoked my drivers license for the rest of my life and I that will never be able to drive again anywhere. Isn't that unconstitutional is some form or other? I did my time for the crime how can they penalize me for the rest of my life on top of that?
The state has an obligation to protect its people. Some crimes demand action and the Secretary of State has been...
Why was a DUI while driving on an out of state DL put on an Illinois DL number that hasn't been valid for almost 20 years?
I was arrested for a DUI in Illinois while I wasn't a resident and driving on an out of state drivers license. Instead of using this number for the record, they used an old Illinois drivers license number that hasn't been valid for more than 15 years. It's even documented that I had a valid out of state license at the time of my arrest but at some point they switched the numbers. Now when I go to renew my license I've heard that I won't be able to because Illinois has placed a lifetime revocation on my license because of previous out of state DUI's. Due to the passage of time I now have one DUI/OWI on my record and that's the one from Illinois. Would Illinois have been able to do this if they used the correct drivers license number in the first place.
Whoever you are arrested in Il for a traffic offense they create a file for you and assign a number to it which is your...
Is there any way of narrowing down when the Illinois law regarding 4 DUI/OWI = lifetime revocation will be discussed again?
I fall into that category. I live in the country and things have become very difficult. I've already lost a job because I couldn't get there. I'm trying to decide how long I should continue to try and keep the house v.s. going to some shelter in the inner city and starting over. I've learned in AA that you have to surrender to win and I feel like I may be reaching that point. Thank you
There is no way to ascertain whether, or if, revocation laws will ever be discussed or amended.
Driving record, PDPS, and National say I have one DUI on my record yet i have a lifetime revocation. Can this be lifted?
I have past DUI's that have been taken off my record in Iowa due to passage of time.
I assume that you mean that you have had four DUI convictions and Illinois won't consider you for reinstatement. If...
Has anyone overturned a lifetime revocation in Illinois
I have 6 years sober and my whole life has changed. Now I'm on the verge of losing my job in March when we move to a new location because I cant get there. Last DUI was in 2005 in and I have 4 others out of state is there any hope for me. I feel like I'm going to be wearing this scarlet letter for the rest of my life.

What can I do about court fines for a DUI?
Hello, in 2014 I received a DUI in Cook County, Illinois. I was sentenced to 2 years probation, 90 hours of Alcohol abuse treatment, 200 hours of community service, Impact panel session, revoked license, probation fees, required to pay re-instatement fees for my drivers license, and lastly $2,914.00 in Court fines, I have completed everything, except, paying my reinstatement fees for my Drivers license which I believe is $550.00, and the $2,914.00 in court fines. Probation fees, treatment, and community service have been taken care of, but with me being disabled and on a fixed income, of 871.00 a month has made it nearly impossible for me to save the money for the court fines. The most difficult part is the fact that I live 4 hours away in western Illinois away from Chicago. My probation will becoming to an end in December of this year 2016. I was told that I am to pay my fines in full at my last hearing in Cook County, less the reinstatement fees which will be sent to Springfield. I do not know what to do about the fines. I would like to know if there is some leniency when it comes to fines? Thank you for your time.
