Can ignition interlock be installed on a motorcycle if it's my only means of transportation?
The court never ordered me to stay away from motorcycles, I received my license back after 6 month suspension, I was going to wait 6 months for my ignition interlock order to expire but probation says my interlock requirement period does not start untill i have a vehicle with an interlock registered in my name.

Trying to prepare for my driver license hearing in nc i live in ny (They are sending me papers)
I am eligible for a hearing to get my driver license back I live in New York now so they are sending me my papers so i do not have to go to NC. I completed my DWI assement classes when i got my second dwi (2009). I did go to prison for six month got out in may 2012 Since then I am attending substance abuse classes for about 7 months now have not drank since Nov 2011, and have had my job now for going on 6 months.. Just want to see what I need to prepare for my hearing papers and what to look forward to.
This is a question for NC DWI attorneys. You will need to have your license restored in NC before applying for a NY license.
If a state trooper knows u have been drinking, should they ask u to get behind the wheel and drive...when u arent in the car
My son who is mentally disabled, had been drinking at a funeral. he was outside talking to people when a state trooper pulled up, whom he knows and they were just talking. Why did that trooper ask my son to get behind the wheel and drive 8miles.."to talk" whenhe knew he had been drinking, that could have been a fatality. Then arrested him, but said they would make the tickets disappear if he would wear a wire to do drug buys for them. Since he refused, they (law enforcement) has put us thru hell. Isnt this entrapment?? We dont know what to do, we cant afford a lawyer and the public defender is on their side.
Try contacting the State Police headquarters in Albany. As to speak with someone in Internal Affairs. 518-457-6811....
Conditional license from DMV?
I was recently convicted of DWAI in New York. I also attended a hearing at the DMV because I refused to take the breathalyzer when I was arrested. After the hearing, the DMV took my license away for a year based on my refusal. Can I get a conditional license? The woman judge hearing the case was really mean.
You can apply for the conditional license in light of the plea.
NY State DWI/DWAI predicament - live in New Jersey
My sister received a DWI in NY State in June, She works for a large pharmaceutical in New Jersey, and her job is 85% travel. Without her license, her career is in the tubes. Yes, its always easier to say after the fact and realize the error of your ways. The question here is this lawyer suggested that he will have a better chance of pleading down the case to the DWAI, if her employer would provide a letter she would be fired if convicted. (There is no doubt she will be). However I work for a similar size company and I have a friend in HR who told me no ethical company will provide a written statement like that, regardless that she will lose her job. Before she lets the cat out of the bag to her employer, does this increase the chance of pleading down? Considering other counsel.
She should listen to the lawyer who gave the advise. He or she is in the best position to advise your sister.
DWAI (vs. DWI) disclosure statement for application?
Does this look reasonable? "... while I do not have any criminal convictions or pending criminal charges, for the avoidance of any doubt or uncertainty, I do have a traffic infraction on my New York State driving record after being pulled aside at a random police checkpoint. This ultimately resulted in a non-criminal traffic infraction in violation of Vehicle and Traffic Law 1192.1 - Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol, which is expressly not a crime in New York and typically issued when minimal alcohol consumption is observed but not intoxication. Please note that this traffic infraction differs decidedly from a violation of 1192.2 - Driving While Intoxicated offence in New York, which is a criminal misdemeanor and reflects a blood alcohol level above the legal limit of .08% BAC."
That is well written and quite detailed, but what is the question?
