A fatal shooting that occurred as several men fought over a debt in Ridgeville has been ruled a justifiable homicide. Berkeley County sheriff's deputies said Rivers went to a home at 225 Garden Court, off S.C. Highway 27, to collect a debt from resident Diamonte Evans, 20. An argument ensued. Comment?

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office arrested Richard Campbell Jr. of Summerville and charged him with six counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a weapon during a violent crime. His arrest stems from an incident on Saturday at 8:09 p.m. when deputies responded to a home on Leisure Drive in the Summerville area of Berkeley County in reference to a report of a shooting that had just taken place on Shellmore Trail. Police say a fatal shooting Tuesday night at a Moncks Corner home was justified because the homeowner was protecting his family from a home invasion. Police Chief Rick Ollic told reporters Wednesday afternoon their investigation revealed a man the Berkeley County Coroner identified as Elijah A. White, Jr., 30, forced his way into a home on Post Oak Court off Highway 52. White was armed with a handgun and wearing a mask and gloves, he said. Comment?

When you watch the video, now viral on Facebook, it appears to show an EBR deputy throwing a 7th grader at Westdale Middle School to the ground. The victim was found lying on a sidewalk near 203 Post Oak Court in the Oakley Pointe subdivision, said Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury. Officers were called around 8:15 p.m. to a report of a burglary in process at the scene, said Moncks Corner Police Chief Rick Ollic. Comment?

Police Chief Ric Ollic told reporters Wednesday afternoon their investigation showed a man the Berkeley County Coroner identified as Elijah A. A Wadmalaw Island man is charged with armed robbery after a holdup at a Game Stop store in Moncks Corner. Police allege that Robert Coaxum, 24, of Dunwell Road, was one of two suspects who entered the business at 505 U.S. Highway 52 and stole cash on Jan. 24. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun.
