A DWI first in Texas is a misdemeanor unless there's a child in the car. Deferred probation is not allowed in DWIs in...
I was in a store to get cigarettes when I was approached by a state patrolman coming from the restroom in the back of the store. He asked if I was handicapped but I didnt answer because I thought he was talking to someone else so he asked again and I answered no. At that time he asked me to step outside and asked me if I had been drinking. I answer yes and so he made me do test both physical and breath, passing physical but not breath. I was arrested for DWI eventhough the officer nor anybody else saw me driving and my truck was not even parked in handicapped area. Can they arrest me for DWI even if not seen behind the steering wheel or driving the truck?
The police can arrest you for anything they want. Similarly, a charge can be filed against you based solely on what the...
I got a DUI in Florida recently, can I get a Hardship License in Texas, will my license be suspended in Texas as well??
i live in austin texas, and i am in orlando doing a contract project at the convention center. I jsut got a dui, and it says I have 10 days to dispute it and i can get a hardship license. It says my license wil be suspended for up to a year. If my drivers license was issued in texas does that mean that the same thing will happen in Texas, and if so can I get a hardship license?
Yes, although there is always the possibility that it will take time or perhaps get lost,, but plan on getting a...
I was arrested for DWI in TX but have since moved to CA. Is it better to have a CA or TX license at the time of the plea?
After being charged with DWI in Dallas, TX, I relocated to CA for work (I maintain residences in both states). I have already served a six month ALR suspension. I am looking to make a plea agreement which would result in a conviction on my record. Will my TX license be suspended again? How difficult would it be to reinstate? Would it be better to obtain a CA license before making the plea? Would my CA license be suspended in this event? What would the process be to reinstate it?
If this is your first DWI you will not have an additional suspend ouch you plead to probation. So you would have no...
I am going for 3 months and so far the only response I've gotten was "It's like Kindergarten. You get colored shirts which state your risk level, can't touch anyone or get out of line. There's nap time and rec time and meetings.". I am nowhere near satisfied with that answer. My preferred response has to do with what kind of people I will be dealing with, and if there is a risk (like in jail) of me having to stand my ground which will earn me more time. I do not want to be there longer than I have to, and I think it's complete trash that I have to go in the first place considering I no longer drink and I still attend my AA meetings. This is screwing me out of a job, which will in turn screw my girlfriend on finances. Also, does my time in count toward probation time? Thank you.
I have never heard of SAFPF being a 3-month program. I believe it is usually 6 months with up to a 3-month halfway...
What would the defense be and am I looking at jail time or what's the least penalty the court may give?
Hard to say with so little information. Could be charged with child endangerment and DWI at a minimum. If child not...
