I was arrested for DWI in McKinney, Tx and because it is the first time i've been in trouble. I am lost.
I received a driving permit and was given a paper stating that I had 7 days to get the blowing device on my car. I don't understand why they suspended my license and are requiring the device before I ever go to court. I read that they only do that if you refuse to do a breath or blood test which I did not refuse. I was alone in the car and did not receive any other citations. The reason they pulled me over was because I was speeding which I did not receive a ticket for that either. Please help...
You May have had a high test score that might be why the want you too have the interlock device your car. Also,...

This is something that you need to discuss with your attorney. There are usually long sentences handled down in these...
I am 17 and just got my first DWI. I'm wondering what my punishment will be like based on my situation.
This is my first time ever getting into legal trouble. I understand that what i did was wrong but I'm scared that this one mistake will make my life hard on me down the road. I make good grades in school and i am very respectful. I took a blood test the night of the arrest and I'm waiting on results. When they do get the results and i have my hearing, what is most likely going to be my punishment? I live in Texas and i know this is a very strict state for this kind of thing but just a rough estimate of my punishment would be nice to hear. For example how long am i likely to have this interlock device in my car? How much is this going to cost my when its over? How long is my probation likely to be? And will the judge look at my situation and take it easy on me with a DUI instead of a DWI
Your best option to get your questioned answered is to schedule an appointment with a local DWI attorney
Rx medication, and Probation Officer/DWI
I was in a wreck in 2008, which resulted in 2 back surgeries, and knee surgery, so I was prescribed pain medication for a few years. After all surgeries, and pain management, I was put on Buprenorphine, to help body adjust, and also for acute back pain management. Every Rx I've had, were 100% legitimate. I was arrested for a 2nd DWI in 2013, my first DWI was in 2002. My probation officer wants a letter from my doctor explaining the need to be on this medication, and my PO said she wants to make a plan to get me off of this medication. I've have several UA's, and all were 100% clean. So I don't understand what the problem is. If it doesn't fail any of the "testing for" medications/substances, why is it an issue? Is she allowed (legally) to make decisions for my medical treatment?
Your PO is not a doctor and has no say in your medical care. As long as the medications are prescribed to you and you...
How soon will you see parole on a 2 yr dwi sentence in Texas?
My bf was given a 2 year sentence on a dwi ...I am reading that you dont see parole until you serve a fourth of your sentence. I just found out he is coming up for parole onthe 10 th of oOctober this year he has only been in since aug.13 of this year. They are running both concurrent . So how is he coming up for parole so soon? He is still in county..please jelp
Chances are great that he will NOT make first parole - particularly if he serving the minimum sentence (2 years) on two...
19 months to get obligatory blood test back. Court requests interlock device for first alleged offense. Any other options?
Friend complied with blood request and was arrested. no suspension of license as he didn't refuse. Out on bond for 19 months when court notifies him that he has new bond requirements including interlock device. It seems to me that a hearing may be warranted on the credibility of these samples due to the delay?? I understand 3-6 months or 6-9 months even 1 year but 19 months??Due process
Judges have broad discretion to impose conditions of bond, so I don't think a due process argument would go very far....
I have an ALR hearing on Tuesday. My 2nd DWI charge was filled 12/30. I really need to keep my license. Please help.
I need a lawyer. I refused a breathe test. Facing DWI 2nd. I am currently on probation for the first DWI. Since violating probation for potential 2nd I now have an interlock installed on my device.
You need to go to the ALR hearing and request a continuance--or hire an attorney tomorrow to do that for you. An...
