What is a reasonable outcome of a plea deal for a first time DUI offender with a BAC (blood) of .20 with a Public Defender?
A friend of mine was arrested for DUI, in Tucson, AZ on Thanksgiving Eve - no accident, no injuries. She has no criminal, traffic or civil history, no arrests, etc. She was also charged with excessive speed, failure to stop for a red light and failure to drive in one lane. She refused the breath and blood tests, a warrant was granted and the blood test came back .20. She is going through bankruptcy and cannot afford a private attorney and plans to plead no contest. She met with the Public Defender and obviously, the outcome looks grim. She has already requested a hearing with the MVD. What is the Prosecution likely to offer her in exchange for a guilty (or no contest) plea? Would dropping it to an extreme and serving just a few days in jail w/ probation - how long? in addition to MADD classes and alcohol counseling or drug court be a reasonable expectation? She works full-time, and would like to maintain employment as well. The only good thing is she was not taken to jail and her vehicle was not impounded on the spot
In Tucson City Court, the State will usually drop the "super extreme" charge and offer a plea to the "extreme" charge (...

Mvd charging me with dui after 18 months?
I was pulled over on April 10, 2016 for a dui. I was compliant and blew a .119 and was put in the police car. They drove me to the hospital and they drew my blood and then Release me and my car to my mom. It's now over 18 months later and I just received a letter from MVD saying they were going forward with my charges. On the paperwork it says nothing about a breathalyzer but does say blood test with a BAC of 0.119 which weirdly is what I blew. The paper work also doesn't start a case number because "They are still waiting on the lab results". I just feel there is a lot that doesn't make sense and I was told they only had a year to charge me. Help please!
You might be right about the time limits expiring. What you said in your question is a bit confusing. Your best bet is...
Will there be a huge consequence for my driving record if I pay (admit guilt) my US District Court Violation Notice?
I was pulled over by a Park Ranger in AZ for going 73 in a 65. I was given a citation for driving on a suspended license. The ticket is only for $135. Do I pay the fine and then have a class 1 misdemeanor on my record? Will this be reported to the AZ MVD and further suspend my license?
It just doesn't seem right to plead guilty to a Misdemeanor for speeding to me, but that's up to you. It will go on...
