What are the chances of getting probation or having my first DWI case dismissed? What are the exact penalties I could face?
Was arrested for a DWI B misdemenor and currently on bail. My bail was set at $5,000 and I am possibly facing 2 years of probation or 1 year in county jail. Ive seen lower bails and sentences. But I did hit parked RV on a driveway. I wasnt Mirandized but took a field sobriety test and a breathlyzer at booking.
Chances of pretrial dismissal are remote, absent some rare mitigating factors in your favor. However, if you hire a...
First court date
I'm looking to go into court for the first time. We got pulled over while high and got charged for possession of drug paraphernalia. The cop also found a little bag full of salvia in the vehicle, I did admit to it being my bag even though it wasn't, but did not admit to what was in it. I acted like I did not know what was in it. He confiscated it and said that it would be tested. Is this something they will ask me about on the first court date? Should I continue to deny what was I it? Can I plead the 5th if they ask? Can I deny the bag being mine and just say that I was not aware of what I was saying since I was under the influence of marijuana?
If you do not have a lawyer you can ask that one be appointed if you cannot afford one. Every lawyer worth their salt...

How can I get my Class C Misdemeanor D.U.I./Minor expunged or sealed?
A year ago, when I was 18, I was convicted of a Class C Misdemeanor D.U.I./Minor charge. I plead guilty in court and payed a fine, because I was not aware that there were other options such as deferred adjudication. I really want to get this off of my record or do whatever possible to make it less severe. I want to hire a lawyer to help me with this, but am not even sure if anything can be done. Is there any possibility that I can still get this charge expunged or sealed or are then any other options? Thank you so much!
I would highly recommend contacting a local attorney to help resolve these issues.

Last year I was convicted of a class C misdemeanor D.U.I. at the age of 19. Is there anything I can do to remedy my record?
Hello. Last year I was convicted of a class C misdemeanor D.U.I. in the state of Texas. I was arrested, but was not actually seen driving by the police, as I had stopped at a gas station and someone called them. After being arrested, I went to jail and was put in front of a judge, who I plead guilty to. My charge was just under $400 and I did not suffer any other consequences... It is now a year later and I am really nervous about how this is going to affect my future career as an attorney. I am an accelerated student with a near perfect GPA and will be starting law school next year. I am willing to hire a lawyer to help me with this, but I just need some feedback before I do so. Is there anything at all that I can do to remedy my record? Thank you so much for your time and help!
You cannot change the past, but you can use it to advance your future. Make sure that you ADMIT it to those who ask...
