Police arrested a man after they say he shot his 10-year-old brother in the head and lied about it, initially claiming the child shot himself. According to a police report, officers responded to a home in the 2600 block of Embarcadero Drive in Lithonia, which is about 18 miles east of downtown Atlanta. Comment?

Nineteen-year-old Christopher Oliver Merritt, who robbed and killed Marcaysia Dawkins at a MARTA bus stop on Fairington Road in Lithonia, is going to prison for life with no chance of parole. Merritt is shown struggling with Dawkins for her handbag and shooting her twice with a 9 mm pistol before running off with her belongings. Comment?

The 19-year-old man accused of killing a woman waiting for a MARTA bus in DeKalb County late last year is expected to appear in court Tuesday to plead guilty to charges stemming from the killing and a host of other incidents.
