The 17-year-old stepson of a pregnant woman injured in what was thought to be a home invasion Feb. 21 was arrested hours after the incident and taken to the Juvenile Detention Center. Largo police reported Tuesday morning that they were investigating a home invasion that occurred about 6:15 a.m. at a residence on Seventh Street Northwest in Largo. Comment?

D.C. prosecutors Tuesday for the first time alleged that more than 200 protesters arrested during the Jan. 20 inauguration of President Trump used so-called "black bloc" tactics, with participants setting out to cause violence and attempting to disguise their identities by covering their faces with masks and scarves. The allegations came as prosecutors announced a superseding indictment against 214 people who face a charge of felony rioting. Comment?

A homeless man tried to rob a convenience store in December by implying he had a gun, and when he was unsuccessful he went to another store and implied he had a bomb, Clearwater police said. According to arrest affidavits, Orance Levon Hunter, 39, went to a 7-Eleven, 1725 Drew St., about 2:29 a.m. Dec. 11 and selected a bottle of water. Comment?

A 19-year-old Largo woman getting a pedicure at a salon in unincorporated Largo was shot Feb. 10 when a gun accidentally discharged at a neighboring business. According to detectives assigned to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Robbery/Homicide Unit, deputies were called to Dara's Nail Salon and Day Spa, 9049 Starkey Road in unincorporated Largo about 6:30 p.m. due to a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. A 42-year-old man is being held without bond in the Pinellas County Jail on two counts of capital sexual battery on a child under age 12. Domingo Maye of Mexico City, Mexico surrendered himself to FBI Agents in Mexico City on Feb. 1 and was extradited back to the United States. The incident occurred Nov. 14, 2015 at a private residence in Pinellas County. Comment?

Pinellas County Sheriff's detectives arrested a Pinellas Park man about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, on a charge of sexual battery on a minor. Detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit said the female victim was between ages 14 and 18 when the crime occurred during the years 2011 and 2014 at various locations throughout the county. A Largo man is accused of fatally shooting a co-worker at a job site in unincorporated Clearwater on Tuesday, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said. According to a report, deputies were called to Southern Comfort Mobile Home Park, 244479 U.S. Highway 19 N., about 1:10 p.m. There, they found Gregory Perry, 51, lying in the roadway with a gunshot wound to the torso.
