How do I deal with a dui in Florida while on parole in Texas?
I have been on parole in texas and have 11 more years to go. I went to Florida and got a dui while there. I served 3 mo. and went before the judge and then Texas came to transport me back.My parole violation is taken care of and I am no longer in jail. My drivers L. was suspended for 6 mo wichh should be over. They say I owe a fine, shouldn't I get some off the fine for time served? And how do I deal with the year probation and community service in Florida if I can't leave Texas. I really need my drivers l. to work. sincerley very confused
FL does not give credit against fines for time served. You must pay your fines or they will be sent to collections and...
Are there any travel restrictions to Guatemala or Nicaragua with a DWI or DUI?
As I understand it, Canada has some super strict rules on travel after a conviction for DWI or DUI. I'm wondering if there are any issues with travel to Guatemala or Nicaragua after a conviction? My significant other has to travel there this year and next for work. We have the final court date today for conviction and we can ask our lawyer then, but I'm looking for a quick answer beforehand. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You will face trouble if you leave the country before a verdict is handed down. That is probably the most obvious...
Can I get a dwi from only taking Lisinopril or Zoloft ?
I'm worried that I can be busted for this because the prescription bottles state "may cause drowsiness."
DWI = driving while impaired. Impaired is not only caused by alcohol.
My question involves the SR-22 insurance policy due to DWI conviction.
I was arrested and charged with a DWI and received an ALR driver's license suspension from the Dept of Public Safety which lasted 180 days. For the entire 180 day period of my driver's license suspension, I was ordered to obtain SR-22 insurance. I was told that I was only required to keep the SR-22 insurance for the 180 license suspension period. My case was eventually filed with the criminal court, and I pleaded 'no contest' to the DWI charge which I received a conviction for. However, I received no jail time, fines, suspensions nor any additional punishments. I was told by my attorney that I was no longer required to have the SR-22 insurance. Recently, I was renewing my reinstated driver's license and was told by DPS that I was required to keep the SR-22 insurance for 2 years from the date of my conviction. Is this true? Please help

Is there a required time frame that a DWI has to be finalized in Texas?
My case is almost a year and a half old. My lawyer sees the judge every month or so, works on plea negotiations and then the court date gets pushed out for another month or two. I haven't seen the judge myself yet. I know I am in a really slow moving court, but is there a time frame that the case has to be finalized by in Texas or can it be ongoing forever?
There is no "set in stone" limit. If you want to plead guilty, you can do that at any time. Just tell your lawyer...
Will I be able to get a driver's license in Texas today if I got a dwi in Maryland in August 2014.
I refused the breathalyzer. I also had a DUI in 2008. They requested me to get a car breathalyzer. I have not driven at all since them in august and now live here in texas
There is a chance that Texas never got wind of the Maryland convictions. However, if they did then they can definitely...
I want to file divorce after 3 years separation. What should i do when my wife calls police and arrest me for DUI in Texas?
Our relationship is 20 yrs old. I had a bad time and fall out when we had a third baby. It was a parental stress. She asked for for some free space temporarily. I put her in an apartment close to her office and kids schools. But that became permanent. I have been living with them more than at my own condo. All the insults and etc, I decided to move on. My 3 kids were the only factor I tried different ways to stay with them. But now I am ready to lose everything and move on. May be I will get successful with no emotions and relationships. I want a clean divorce. She doesn't want anything from me or myself too. Should I go for uncontested divorce and leave everything to her including the custody of children. Or should I do anything that I am not aware of. She is very good and I am sure she will do best without me. She called police on me on one unfortunate night but did not press charges. But police arrested me for DUI since I was behind the wheel. I am fighting this case through an attorney who does not deal divorce. Please advise.
