    A 16-year-old has been charged with murder in connection with a Sunday night shooting in Kinston that led to one man's death. Terrance Donsha Epps Jr., of LaGrange, was charged with first degree murder after turning himself in at the Pitt County Sheriff's Office Tuesday night, according to a press release from the Kinston Police Department Wednesday morning.

    On September 5, members of the U.S. Marshal Task Force took Cornelius Lamont Barnes of Kinston into custody for an arrest warrant stemming from an assault that took place in Kinston on August 3. The U.S. Marshals had been searching for Barnes for the past month and arrested him in Suffolk, Virginia, where Barnes is currently awaiting an extradition hearing. Barnes is charged with First Degree Rape, First Degree Statutory Sex Offense and First Degree Kidnapping.

    A man wanted for a sexual assault reported in Kinston, North Carolina, on August has been arrested in Suffolk, Virginia, authorities said. Cornelius L. Barnes, of Kinston, was charged with first-degree rape, first-degree statutory sex offense and first-degree kidnapping.
