Will I need to get a lawyer to get a hardship?
I originally was on a 5 year denial for my drivers license. I was eligible to get my license back in June of this year but I have gotten driving while revoked charges so that date was pushed back to April of 2018. I am in drug court now and really need a license in order to do everything I need to. I was just curious if I need a lawyer to petition the circuit court to get a hardship or if I can do it myself
I believe it will be very beneficial for you to hire a lawyer to assist you. When it comes to petitioning the court,...

Six months for IID has passed and I have completed all reinstatement for license-live in IL but license is still in MO
I had IID placed due to refusal to blow. My court document stated placement of IID for 6 months. I figured the end of January 2016 I would be told I could remove. I called Smart Start, they stated I needed to call DOR and find out. I did this and they stated Smart Start would know. For months now I have repeatedly called both and neither could tell me. I did calibrations every month without violations. I kept the device, paid my $84 every month and then got pulled over for speeding. Highway patrol was confused as to why I had the devise because my license had no restrictions...this was in September 2016. I finally got hold of someone at DOR who sent me a letter that stated that Jan 23, 2016, I was due to have device removed. In the last 2 months I have been driving my work truck because I was no longer required to have device and now Smart Start has locked me out of my vehicle stating I have to pay the additional money for Sept and Oct because I still had the device even though I sent letter to them showing I could have it removed in January. They won't provide the code to remove until I pay the 2 months because they claimed I'm renting it. Please advise
Pay then sue them in small claims court or don't pay simple.
Can a diabetic with high blood sugars affect a breathalyzer test with the equipment used by Missouri State Highway Patrol?
I have a friend who has CF (cystic fibrosis) related diabetes. Insulin dependent for 15 years. Ate good sized portion of spaghetti at 3:30 pm, took 4 units of Novolog insulin. Had no diner. Drank 3 beers between the hours of 10:30 pm and 1:30 am. Weighs approx 145 lb. Blew 0.13 on a Datamaster breathalyzer. Measured blood sugar on home monitor at 2:45 am with a reading of 375. His A1C runs around 7 to 8. Is it possible that his high blood sugar could have affected the out come of his breathalyzer results. If so how can he defend this in court. Thank You.
Yes, depending on the machine, it could affect the reading. With that said, you're friend needs to find a local...
