The county prosecutor sent me a letter acknowledging police misconduct that may have affected my DUI. Do I hire a lawyer now?
I was arrested for drunk driving in Ocean County, NJ in December of 2013. I took a breath test when I was arrested. I pleaded guilty to the charge in January of 2014. My license was suspended for 7 months. I was fined. I had to attend classes. I had to have a interlock device in my car for 19 months. I complied with everything that was asked of me. I served out my suspension. I paid all the fines, fees and surcharges. My license was restored in August of 2014. In August of 2015, the interlock restriction was removed from my license. My license is currently valid. Today I received a letter in the mail from the Ocean County Prosecutor. In the letter, the Prosecutor informed me that a New Jersey State Trooper that was in charge of inspecting breathalyzer units had falsely certified various machines without following proper protocols. The letter told me that the NJ Supreme Court has assigned a retired judge to hold a hearing to determine what type of relief, if any, should be afforded to people like myself who might have been affected by the Trooper's misconduct. In the letter, the Prosecutor says that I should hire a lawyer now if I feel that I am in need of "emergent" relief.

Why cant I get a copy of my " assessment " from the IDLER 12 hour class ?
I am in the process of joining the US Navy . I have completed all requirements for the IDRC and state . I need a copy of the " assessment " you take during the IDRC 12 hour class . This is the assessment that is taken on a scantron , and helps determine if more treatment is needed . I have been told they do not release this paper work , however the chief of my recruiter told me they do . Monmouth county directer refused to give me a copy . I was told that NJ does not allow the release of this info . Upon hearing that i went back to the recruiter where he showed me a copy of someone else's " assessment " from ocean county . If they give them out in ocean , then its not a state mandate . Can you please help me with this question . . . i can not proceed without that paper .
I do not know the answer to this. It would appear that Administrative Cope Section 8:66A-4.1 infers that the document...
