Howell defense attorney James Buttrey said his client, Devon Maliek McCloud, deserved a new preliminary exam in District Court in the interest of fairness and equality in light of the recent discovery of store surveillance video that casts doubt on the accuracy of a witness' trial testimony. A Grand Rapids man was sentenced to 15 to 40 years in prison for breaking into a Howell-area home and pretending to be a narcotics agent. The Livingston Daily reported Livingston County Circuit Judge Michael P. Hatty sentenced Richard J. Quam for 28-counts including single counts of armed robbery and home invasion and multiple counts of unlawful imprisonment and felonious assault. Comment?
